Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst

The Job

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst with a passion and energy for testing and improving software quality for our application development.

The QA Analyst’s primary role is to ensure that software is appropriately verified and validated; this includes test planning, creation of test environment and test data, as well as executing test cases and reporting bugs.

Position will be a hybrid role, with some work done from home and some from our office in Montreal.

The Daily

• Work closely with other Testers, Software Developers, and Project Management team to provide software testing for web and mobile applications.
• Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Participate in all stages of software development to identify and report system malfunctions to meet quality standards
• Exercise good judgement based on independent and analytical thinking
• Create test plans and test cases
• Identify, record, document, and track bugs
• Perform functional, regression, and systems integration testing for web and mobile applications
• Pro-actively seeks continuous improvements in test coverage, execution, and automation
• Provide effective communication regarding the status of software under test
• Strong ability to learn and grow professionally
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
• Other duties as assigned

The Essentials

• Solid technical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of English language is required.
• 5 years of experience in a formal QA role
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes
• Goal-oriented, able to handle conflicting priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Experience working with Azure DevOps is considered an asset
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive defect reports and test cases
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• Hands-on experience with Katalon is considered an asset
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering related subject or equivalent and practical experience

Le quotidien

• Travailler en étroite collaboration avec d'autres Testeurs, Développeurs Logiciels et l'équipe de Gestion de Projets pour fournir des tests logiciels pour des applications web et mobiles.
• Examiner les exigences, les spécifications et les documents de conception technique pour fournir des retours opportuns et significatifs.
• Participer à toutes les étapes du développement logiciel pour identifier et signaler les dysfonctionnements du système afin de répondre aux normes de qualité.
• Faire preuve de bon jugement basé sur une réflexion indépendante et analytique.
• Créer des plans et des cas de test.
• Identifier, enregistrer, documenter et suivre les bugs.
• Effectuer des tests fonctionnels, de régression et d'intégration de systèmes pour des applications web et mobiles.
• Chercher proactivement des améliorations continues dans la couverture, l'exécution et l'automatisation des tests.
• Fournir une communication efficace concernant l'état du logiciel en test.
• Rester à jour avec de nouveaux outils de test et stratégies de test.

Les Essentiels

• Solides compétences techniques et de résolution de problèmes.
• La connaissance de la langue anglaise est requise.
• 5 ans d'expérience dans un rôle formel de QA.
• Forte connaissance des méthodologies, outils et processus de test logiciel.
• Orienté vers les objectifs, capable de gérer des priorités conflictuelles.
• Excellentes compétences en communication et relations interpersonnelles.
• Expérience de travail dans un processus de développement Agile/Scrum.
• L'expérience avec Azure DevOps est considérée comme un atout.
• Expérience dans la rédaction de rapports de défauts et de cas de test clairs, concis et complets.
• L'expérience des tests de performance et/ou de sécurité est un plus.
• Expérience pratique avec Katalon est considérée comme un atout.

Diplôme en informatique, ingénierie ou sujet connexe, ou expérience pratique équivalente.
