The Quality Assurance Analyst works as part of a multidisciplinary software development team and promotes quality throughout the product lifecycle. His or her main task is to work with developers to integrate good Quality Assurance practices throughout the development process. He or she is a key player in promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Work closely with developers to implement new application functionalities.
  • Be a quality champion within the team, promoting best practice and influencing a shift in mindset towards proactive Quality Assurance (shift-left).
  • Participate in requirement analysis sessions to gain a deep understanding of user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring that quality considerations are addressed early in the development process.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, providing valuable information from a Quality Assurance perspective to identify potential problems before they occur.
  • Work with developers to improve code testability, suggesting improvements and providing advice on writing code that complies with best practice and quality standards.
  • Help developers to identify test automation opportunities and support their integration into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
  • Implement and promote defect prevention strategies by participating in root cause analysis and working with developers to resolve underlying issues.
  • Participate in team activities, including requirements refinement, risk analysis, planning, and retrospectives.
  • If necessary, carry out exploratory tests to identify defects, non-conformity, and opportunities for improvement.


Profile

  • DEC or bachelor’s degree in software development or any experience deemed equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience in software product development.
  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • In-depth understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
  • Mastery of theoretical concepts in software quality (test pyramid, limit cases, mocks, stubs, etc.).
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-functional team.
  • An analytical mind with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiar with test automation principles and tools (an asset).
  • Programming skills, particularly in JavaScript or C# (an asset).
  • Bilingual (French and English)
