At our Stratford Facility Arrow Engineered Products –We design and manufacture turn key solutions for a vast variety of customers in need of Nuclear, Chemical Mixing, Heat exchanger, Autoclave Systems requirements including Fuel storage and misc. custom designed Pressure and non pressure designs, Following ASME, PED, ULC and API certified design criteria.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for testing materials and finished products to ensure they conform to product work instructions in accordance with all applicable laws and company standards. They test products across the three stages of production (before, in-process, and final) to ensure quality levels are met. A drive to help develop and implement quality initiatives and relate actionable data to the production teams is a key to this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:(Duties within the role that they will be evaluated on)

  • Develop and maintain inspection methods and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with customer and company standards and specifications.
  • Maintain compliance to all registered QA programs: ISO 9001, ASME Section VIII, CSA N299
  • Ensuring the quality of incoming materials entering the plant and finished products leaving the plant to detect any Issues, (Tolerances, Material Specifications)
  • Preparing and maintaining ITP’s and Control Plans throughout processes
  • Point of contact for Third Party Inspections and Audits
  • Ensuring Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) and CFSI procedures are followed as required.
  • Dimensional evaluation of parts using appropriate equipment, gauges, and fixtures. Ensure that equipment is properly calibrated prior to use.
  • Monitor process, product, and quality system performance in accordance with the applicable product standard and procedures. Report any concerns through the Nonconformance or Corrective Action processes.
  • Identify areas for quality improvement and implement new methods accordingly.
  • Prepare and maintain test data.
  • Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards.
  • Compile PPAP / First Article submissions on assigned programs.
  • Train operators and quality inspectors to perform in-process and final inspections.
  • Participate as required in cross functional team activities including the Control Planning process.
  • Feasibility of the design and process to produce the product specifications.
  • Address any quality issues, including GD&T, gauge design, testing requirements and timing, capability study requirements and timing, applied statistical methods, and Advanced Quality Plans (such as prototype, pre-launch, production control plans and Inspection & Test Plans etc.)
  • Determining customer requirements on assigned programs and obtaining acceptance and limit samples. Responsible for communicating customer requirements and standards within the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise and coordinate activities within a department comprised of diverse tasks and demanding schedules

Incumbents will follow any other instructions and perform any other related duties as may be required.

Key Qualification/Requirements: (Educational Requirements, equip requirements, software skills or programs)

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Quality Assurance related function
  • Good knowledge of fundamentals, principles including management of quality functions within the scope of AEP’s business model
  • Good planning, organizational and communication skills
  • Must have experience in internal and external auditing processes.
  • Experience with ASME VIII and Section IX Welding
  • Experience with CSA N299 and ASME III
  • Good working knowledge of NDE processes
  • Ability to develop ITP and Control Plans to adhere to customer specifications.
  • Weld Inspection to ASME or equivalent
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, shipping/receiving software and demonstrated ability to learn internally developed Quality Assurance software.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints and conduct first article inspections (FAIR).
