Main functions:
Reporting to the QA/RA Manager the main responsibility of the Quality Control Supervisor is to assist in improvement and development of the Quality Management System and monitor production Quality Control. The Quality Control Supervisor will monitor and trend Quality Key Performance Indicators as well as review the QMS to ensure internal and external compliance. The Quality Control Supervisor will manage the activities of Quality Control technicians.
Duties:
- Manage Internal Audit program to ensure company compliance with appropriate standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate process Quality Control activities required to meet quality standards.
- Assist in preparation of customer and work standards, control plans and charts and operator check sheets. Ensure product compliance to specifications by performing batch record review and verification.
- Supervise, train, mentor and provide guidance to the Quality Control Technicians.
- Investigation, monitoring and trending of non-conformances (NCR) to drive root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Manages the Material Review Board activities.
- Assist with investigations for complaint resolution and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Develop a practical understanding of all processes to provide working knowledge for investigating.
- Monitor the performance of quality by tracking and trending against Quality KPIs. Identify discrepancies and develop corrections to improve. Develop KPIs on an ongoing basis to meet the changing needs of the organization.
- Effectively interact with production and development teams to maintain product supply and assist with introduction of new products.
- Remains current with respect to regulatory requirements and trends. Assist in the review of regulatory observations. Identify gaps and escalate potential issues.
- Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection
Employment and Educational Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Quality Assurance
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quality leadership function
- Previous knowledge and experience in GMP, ISO and Regulatory standards Health Canada, FDA
- Self-management and disciplined work approach
- Working both as part of a team and independently
- Problem solving experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills, abilities, and adaptable to change
- Able to work under pressure and apply task priority management
- Appropriate education, training and working experience in use of QA methodologies. Practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, and control plans.
- Analytical and quantitative approach to problem solving
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Control or a related field
- Strong knowledge of quality inspection techniques and methodologies
- Proven experience in quality management systems, including ISO standards
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends or patterns
- Familiarity with QA/QC principles and practices
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
