Business Unit
The Quantitative Modeling and Analytics (QMA) team of Technology Solutions is responsible for the development, delivery, and support of financial engineering solutions, models and Analytics to the Interest Rates, Fixed Income and FX businesses. We work with the business and functional groups across TD Securities, to provide analytic solutions for various financial derivative products. Internship in our team will enable candidates to gain valuable practical experience in financial market practice and make contributions to global trading businesses of TD Securities.

In this position, you will provide a range of operational and analytical support and perform transactions and other processing activities within a well-defined functional area. In return, you will gain skills and experiences in a professional setting that contribute to the completion of your studies and prepare you to build a career in your chosen discipline.

In this role, you will be expected to:

• Support successful execution of relevant reporting, operational requests, and relevant transactional requests for the business unit and client
• Conduct less complex analytics and research, and obtain/share internal and external relevant business/market data
• Assist with building and reviewing internal models, tools, processes, policies, presentations, and other related materials; challenge team and improve the underlying processes of functional area
• Prioritize and manage own workload to meet service level agreement requirements for service and productivity
• Consistently exercise discretion in managing information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues where appropriate
• Access systems, understand and apply system capabilities, ensure information is completed timely and accurately
• Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
• Support the team by continuously enhancing knowledge / expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit
• Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team
• Work within generally defined guidelines, be accountable for completing a range of transactions or activities that involve single to multiple steps and several systems or applications
• Process transactions and activities that could be characterized by low to moderate risk and require process knowledge for own area of expertise
• Take a broad perspective to identify and resolve issues that are atypical, infrequent or not covered by stated processes

• Enrolled in a Graduate level program with a discipline of Mathematics, Statistics, or Equivalent
• Strong mathematical skills in areas including probability, stochastic calculus, stochastic differential equations and linear algebra.
• Knowledge of current financial derivative pricing models. Experience with interest rates and FX pricing models is desirable.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++. Experience with Python and VBA is also desirable.
• Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, support other team members in achieving project/ business objectives and providing client services.
• Ability to respond quickly to urgent requests and work well in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
