We are currently recruiting a Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our Team in Alliston at the following location(s): Wellington Street.
Starting Pay:
RECE: $22.57 - $25.80/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant ($2.00/hr), Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr) Canada Wide Early Learning & Child Care (up to $1.00/hr for RECEs where applicable)
  • Candidates must be available to work a split shift in a before and after school program.
Position Type & Required Availability:
  • Full-time Supply Split Shift Position (25-40 hours/week): Candidates must be available to work a split-shift (morning and afternoon) in our Before & After School programs Monday-Friday to be considered.

POSITION SUMMARY
To ensure operational and curriculum requirements are met in compliance with all Ministry and organizational guidelines. To ensure the delivery of a developmentally appropriate, play based program by applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. To effectively collaborate and communicate with other employees, families and outside agencies in an effort to properly support the needs of individual children.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized college or university.
  • A recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • At least 18 years of age or older due to licensing requirements.
  • Health assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by legislation.
  • Up-to-date registration with the College of ECEs.
  • Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required).
  • Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation, and with the use of pedagogical documentation.
  • Uses initiative; applies sound reason in solving problems and resolves conflict in a calm, professional manner.
  • Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, coworkers and other professionals.
  • Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
  • Ability to use computer systems and programs; including Dayforce, and Storypark.
  • Engages with the children and provides a positive learning experience. Provides a range of care including assisting with meals/snacks, toileting, diapering, dressing, etc.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities, staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Completes program charts, daily logs, reports, and other administration tasks as required.
  • Provides guidance to assistant teachers, students and volunteers as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT
  • Minor exposure to disagreeable elements (within work environment such as dirt/dust, adverse weather conditions, noise, etc).
  • Moderate level of physical effort is regularly required; including but not limited to kneeling, pushing, pulling, bending, and carrying.
  • Occasional exposure to computer terminals.
