Reporting to the Controller, the Receivables Associate will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a fast-paced environment, be meticulous and precise in their work, and will have experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Job Duties:
- Manage the accounts receivable process to ensure prompt customer payments and minimize bad debt risk
- Review customer orders entered into the accounting system for correctness
- Act as a back-up for entering orders into the accounting system
- Preparing and updating internal and external reports with accuracy and proficiency
- Maintain process documentation, performance metrics, and lead improvements in the process.
- Process and record all customer payments
- Communicate with the customer, including negotiation of disputes and collection of overdue accounts
- Maintain customer credit records, both internal and external.
- Prepare annual credit review for all customers
- Participate in credit process and credit customer accounts when instructed
- Perform weekly A/R reviews and keep on top of collections
- Assess if orders should be released if customer is delinquent or over prescribed credit limit
- Perform credit checks on potential new accounts
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years working in a similar role and environment
- Ability to effectively negotiate during receivables collection activities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and Sage 50 Accounting, or similar accounting software.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Data entry accuracy and speed
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
