As a Recreation Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and implementing recreational activities for seniors in a nursing home or assisted living facility. - Develop and implement a variety of recreational programs and activities for seniors, including those with dementia or other cognitive impairments

- Coordinate and schedule group activities, such as arts and crafts, games, music therapy, exercise classes, and outings

- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth execution of recreational programs

- Assess the needs and interests of residents to tailor activities to their preferences

- Provide individualized attention and support to residents during recreational activities

- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and progress of residents

- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents during recreational activities

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

- Therapeutic Recreation Credentials Required for Position

- Experience in nursing home or senior care settings

- Knowledge of dementia care and understanding of the unique needs of seniors with cognitive impairments

- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, their families, and other staff members

- Ability to plan and organize recreational programs that cater to a diverse group of individuals

- Compassion and patience when working with seniors who may have physical or cognitive limitations

- Creativity in designing engaging activities that promote socialization, physical health, and mental stimulation
