As a member of the Health Care Team, the Recreation Facilitator/Activity Worker provides activity programming for
Elders of long term care facilities and participants of the Adult Day programs that maintain optimum functioning in their
physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being and enhances their quality of life. The provision of activity programming
will be in accordance with Manitoba Association of Therapeutic Activity Guidelines and Provincial Recreational
standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Graduate of a Recognized Recreation Program
- Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Serve it Better Certificate
- PIECES, or willingness to take at next available opportunity
- Safe moving and lifting or willingness to take at next opportunity
- Valid Manitoba Class V driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel the region year round
- Valid Manitoba Class IV license (NSM ), willingness to travel the Region year round, and provide a current
- Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
- Satisfactory employment record required
- Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment
