As a member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in implementing our established Recreation Therapy Program, primarily focusing on geriatric residents and short-stay clients.
How You Can Make a Difference:
As a Recreation Therapy Worker, your impact goes beyond routine tasks. You will assist residents to/from programs, lead engaging leisure/Recreation Therapy activities, facilitate customized group sessions (social, physical, spiritual, etc.), and provide one-to-one programs. Your role extends to organizing outings that enrich the lives of our residents. Your keen observations of resident progress and behavior will be crucial in contributing valuable insights to the Supervisor/Recreation Therapist, influencing positive changes to existing programs.
Position Details:
Experience the convenience of a relief part-time (0.78FTE) role with rotating day shifts, providing a harmonious equilibrium between work responsibilities and personal commitments. Casual employees in relief positions receive 13% of their straight time pay, excluding all premiums, as compensation for scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. After completing 180 hours, there is an option to purchase medical, dental, and extended health benefit plans. If the employee holds the position for 6 months or more, the employer will cover the expense of benefits reimbursement and enrollment in the benefit plan.

- Grade 12
- Completion of a recognized recreation course(s) plus two year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Valid class 4 vehicle license required.
