Refrigeration Technician

The Transport Refrigeration Technician performs technical tasks to aid in the assembly, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of variable speed and diesel driven cooling/heating systems, components and mechanical equipment on trucks, trailers and intermodal containers.

Main Responsibilities

The Transport Refrigeration Technician will maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair truck / trailer refrigeration units, AC Equipment, container refrigeration units and Generator sets.

• Install Refrigeration units
• Complete preventative maintenance on refrigeration equipment
• Ensure all work completed meets or exceeds the company standards
• Be available for the on-call service rotation (mobile technicians)

The following experience and skills are an asset:

• 2-3 years experience in any of the following fields: transport refrigeration, automotive technician, electrical, AC/HVAC or Diesel Engine mechanic.
• Piping skills: sil-fos / silver soldering
• Have your own tools
• Valid Class 5 drivers license
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
• Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as both a team player and an individual contributor
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and diagnose electrical systems

Salary: $28.68-$43.19 per hour ($59,654-$89,835 per year)

Pension plan with the company paying up to $4.74/hr ($9,859 per year) for a level 4 Technician/Mechanic
