Regional Co-ordinator

The Bow Valley Waste Management Commission (BVWMC) operates the Francis Cooke Regional Class III Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre (FCLRRC) near Exshaw, Alberta, in the world-famous Bow Valley. Do you have the diverse skills required to help us promote and support best-practice waste management in our community? BVWMC has an opportunity for a motivated professional to help guide sustainable waste management efforts in the region, engaging our local community in the drive to a circular economy. We’re looking for a strong communicator who can support the Commission’s goals by developing and implementing waste management educational programs, fostering positive partnerships with the public, community associations, business sector and multiple levels of government.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) the Regional Co-ordinator will work with our governance team, linking to organisations throughout the region to support strategic goals including facilitating collaborative leadership on waste management, developing innovative waste management strategies, and driving improved diversion of recyclables from landfill. Public outreach is core to this role. Acting as a link between our organisation and the communities we serve, we seek a strong communicator capable of developing productive relations with regional partners to deliver effective waste management solutions for the region and promoting these within our community. Candidates should be committed to our environmental objectives, dedicated to diverting waste from landfill and developing our role as a key player in the circular economy.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

• waste management: 3 years (preferred)
• municipal government: 1 year (preferred)
