Position Summary
Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team!
The Public Health Resource Nurse (PHRN) provides Public Health (PH) nursing clinical advice, support, mentorship and education to personnel responsible for delivery of Public Health services in Primary Care Homes (PCHs) and interprofessional teams (IPTs). The PHRN is responsible for all aspects of assessing, planning, organizing, managing, and evaluating Public Health support and for monitoring, evaluating and reporting on Public Health key indicators. This position also plays an important role in coordinating the delivery of local mass immunization clinics, the local Public Health response to a Public Health crisis, and the follow up and management of complex communicable diseases. Reporting to the Public Health Program Leader, the PHRN works in collaboration with the Regional Public Health Leads, the IPT Leads, Primary Care Nurses (PCNs), and the Community Service Managers (CSMs).
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00
Burns Lake is located in the heart of the Lakes District, an area boasting over 4800 kilometers of lake shoreline. The village has a diverse population of 2,000 residents and serves a surrounding area of approximately 13,000 residents of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako. With two of the six local First Nations communities located within municipal boundaries, Burns Lake has a strong sense of culture and incredible local talents to showcase. Housing in Burns Lake is very affordable, including lakefront property! There are two K-7 schools, a K-9, a 8-12 and a 10-12 public school within the Lakes District area. Additionally, there are two Independent Mennonite schools and one College of New Caledonia campus within the community. It is centrally located between Smithers (1.5 hrs) and Prince George (2.5 hours) for ease of access to airports VIA Rail serves Burns Lake year round and stops right in the centre of Burns Lake's downtown core. Qualfications
• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• Two (2) years recent, related Public Health nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current BCCDC Immunization Certification.
• Current CPR certification at the basic life support level.
• Class V Driver's License

• Ability to operate related equipment including proven ability to utilize computer technology.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
