Reliability Analyst- Mining Tire Group

Kal Tire’s Mining Division is a tire management service company that works on over 25 mining operations across Canada. We enable our customers to be productive and safe, helping them get the most out of their tires by maximizing equipment availability while ensuring a safe working environment at all times. Our business is expanding, and we are growing our Productivity Services team to drive more value from our autonomous inspection systems.

The Reliability Analyst is responsible for transforming condition monitoring insights into actionable plans to enhance tire performance and truck productivity for Kal Tire's customers. By integrating the functions of TOMS planning and condition monitoring, the role identifies recuring patterns, formulates preventive and corrective strategies, and ensures their effective execution with customer and site teams. In collaboration with on-site teams and customers, they aim to elevate tire performance and optimize truck productivity for MTG’s customers.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Interpretation & Insight Generation

  • Proactively analyze data from Autonomous Tire Inspection Systems TireSight, TOMS and TPMS to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities.
  • Extract actionable insights from complex condition monitoring data to formulate preventive and corrective strategies.
  • Use condition monitoring data to forecast potential challenges and propose solutions.
  • Work closely with customer reliability team to identify patterns and turn them into an actionable plan.

Planning & Strategy Execution

  • Review and utilize data from Pitcrew and TPMS, ensuring an effective integration with TOMS planning.
  • Collaborate with the customer planning team to ensure the monthly tire maintenance plan aligns with the tire management strategy.
  • Use condition monitoring data to identify patterns, potential risks, and preventive measures to improve tire performance and productivity.
  • Collaborate with Site Supervisors to create action plans based on condition monitoring insights.

Condition Monitoring & Analysis

  • Analyze system-generated work orders in TOMS, ensuring relevance and accuracy.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary point of communication for internal and external stakeholders regarding insights derived from condition monitoring.
  • Maintain open communication with internal and external stakeholders, including Kal Tire site teams, planners, Productivity Services Specialists, and customers.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the tire maintenance strategy and execution.
  • Ensure all relevant parties are updated on changes to the tire work plan.

TOMS & System Surveillance

  • Regularly review TOMS business rules and make recommendations for optimization.

Performance Evaluation

  • Monitor and report on KPIs, including system health metrics, work order efficiency, and compliance rates.
  • Review downtime, service work trends, and planned/unplanned lock times to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate and lead tire improvement initiatives with customers.
  • Prepare and maintain a tire management plan for each mine site.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years in mining maintenance management or a related field.
  • Experience with HxGn EAM, ERP or SAP EAM software or other asset management systems
  • Demonstrated expertise in reliability analysis, asset condition monitoring or a maintenance planning environment.
  • Ability to work remotely and on one's initiative.
  • Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with data visualization software (e.g., PBI, Mini Tab).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Mining industry operations experience, with respect to mining tires and heavy equipment maintenance, haul road design and maintenance, continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of mine maintenance management processes and systems.
  • Ability to influence change without direct authority.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with team members, managers, and external entities each of which require cooperative efforts on both sides.

EDUCATION

  • Reliability, Maintenance or Engineering or similar relevant working experience.
  • Continuous improvement management or similar relevant working experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional weekend and evening work by exception.
  • Occasional travel to regions for customer meetings
  • Position may be based anywhere geographically in Canada.
  • Can be office or home-based.
  • Bilingual: English, French an advantage.

COMPENSATION

  • The target salary range for this position is 95,190-110,686 per year based on experience.
