Position Title: Relief Terminal Operator - 4 Month Term 

Team and Location: Supply, Trading & Refining - Bowden, AB.

Position Summary:  

To know all aspects in the day to day operations of the Terminal, including a general knowledge of safety and environmental regulations. Responsible for the safe, environmentally sound, and cost effective operation of Rail Unloading facility, Truck Load-out /Unloading and Tankfarm facility as well as assisting with the development and establishment of operating and safety procedures, site security, and effective communication of all operational needs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Operate Truck Unload/Loadout facility 

  • Monitoring and basic troubleshooting duties surrounding Unload/Loadout facility.
  • General maintenance of unload/loadout facility
  • Orientation of new drivers
  • QC and Receipt of all loads
  • General operational knowledge of Truck loading software (TP Vision) 

Operate Tankfarm facility 

  • General knowledge of operational and maintenance duties associated with the Tankfarm facility. Tanks, piping, pumps and associated equipment.
  • Monitoring and basic troubleshooting duties (complete work orders as required)
  • Daily /weekly reporting/logging of activities
  • Monitor tank changes ensure steady state operation
  • Issuance of daily work permits (manage daily maintenance workload)
  • Carry out various PM as required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Fourth class Power Engineers Certificate is beneficial but not required
  • Mechanical aptitude an asset
  • Valid drivers license and abstract in good standing
  • Must be available to work shift work (days & nights) and every second weekend
  • TDG certification is beneficial but not required
  • First aid trained is beneficial but not required
  • WHIMIS Trained is beneficial but not required
