Rental Agent

Vehicle Rental Agents directly support the travel needs of northerners, businesses, tourists and many other visitors to Yellowknife and the Northwest Territories.

Working mostly independently while part of a small team, you will be responsible for all aspects of the rental process including customer service, precise data entry, planning and scheduling, vehicle preparation and staging.

Full-time employee required for 32-40 Hours per week.
Schedule to be discussed/negotiated during interview process, applicant must be available for at least four days per week.
Applicant available for afternoon/evening shifts, and/or weekends is an asset.

Primary Job Duties

• Provide outstanding customer service in person, over the phone and email
• Take incoming calls- reservations, rate quotes, general questions and answers, provide information and resolution for customers, insurance companies, repair shops and other vendors
• Utilize rental software to schedule, manage and process rental transactions
• Understand and communicate rental terms and conditions, vehicle features and other services
• Accurate data entry, record keeping and filing, additional administrative duties
• Efficiently manage daily workflow to ensure vehicles are prepared for reservations
• Inspect and record physical condition of vehicles prior to and following rentals
• Clean and Disinfect keys, vehicles and work areas regularly
• Safe operation, transport and parking of vehicles between locations and within city
• Clean and detail vehicle interior and exterior
• Outdoor work as required, including vehicle inspections, snow clearing, vehicle transport and parking
• Assisting with office and shop cleaning or other duties as requested

Qualifications:

• Class 5 or better Driver's License
• High school diploma or equivalent, additional education or training an asset
• Minimum two years of customer service or hospitality experience
• Strong prioritization and planning skills
• Ability to read and understand contracts
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Thrive in fast paced, active work environment
• Vehicle knowledge and experience an asset
• Local interest, knowledge and experience an asset
• Suitable Driver's Abstract will be required upon hire

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $23.00-$27.00 per hour
