Revit Technician

Job Summary:
Silk Stevens Limited was founded in 2006 and is a full service consulting engineering firm with offices in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador. We are working primarily in Atlantic Canada on Civil Structural projects as the Prime Consultant. We are working across Canada, the USA and beyond on Aquaculture projects where we act as the aquaculture specialist consultant, and often as the Prime Consultant. We specialize in designing recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) for aquaculture facilities of any size and species.

We provide design, construction support and commissioning services.

Your main responsibilities

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Revit Technician will Use Revit software to prepare, coordinate, verify, and prepare Civil, Structural and Aquaculture designs and drawings for various projects.

• Identify interferences with other building systems.
• Use Revit software to prepare, coordinate, verify, and design building and aquaculture systems for various projects.
• Prepare and/or aid in the preparation of construction drawings as required by the Regional Manager and other Designers & Senior Technologists.
• Prepare designs in conformance with the most recent building standards and codes.
• Help carry out surveys of existing conditions, draw up plans using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Develop specifications, notes and details.
• Work closely with the project team to develop solutions tailored to client needs.
• Assist with site supervision.
• Consistently follow company policies, procedures, and file structures/format.
• Perform other related tasks, including administrative tasks.
• Overtime as required.

Your Profile

• You’ve completed a college program in Drafting, Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering Technology
• You have one to five (1-5) years of experience in the drafting or modelling field creating Revit designs.
• You are competent with a variety of computer software including high proficiency with Revit (BIM).
• Experience with AutoCAD is an asset.
• You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Package (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Your understanding of building systems, interference coordination with other building elements, function, and 3D visualization is considered an asset.
• You can meet deadlines and have successful completion of projects.
• You can communicate and work well with other teams.
• You have excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on single/multiple tasks.
• You pay strong attention to detail.
