What you'll do:
Do you like the challenge of offering warm and engaging customer service in a fast-paced environment? As a Room Service Server, you thrive on making genuine personal connections, both in person and over the phone. You’ll be a Subject Matter Expert when it comes to our Room Service menu and the F&B offerings in the hotel. You’ll take total responsibility for serving guests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner and with the utmost discretion as you enter the guest’s room. Are you up for the challenge?

The responsibilities of this position include:

• To provide food and beverage service to all guests according to Marriott standards.
• To be familiar with all food and beverage items in Room Service in order to assist the guest in their selection and promote the items.
• To provide service to our guests in an efficient, friendly, and professional manner.
• To enter all food & beverage orders into Micros, point of sale equipment.
• To maintain accurate guest checks and upon delivery of an order, ensure the check is properly acknowledged and signed by the guest.
• To promote the use of all Hotel facilities and promote special promotions.
• To handle guest concerns, compliments and suggestions in a professional informed manner, using the LEARN process
• To follow and comply with Hotel cash handling policies and procedures.
• To adhere to local liquor and health, safety and fire procedures and laws.
• To make recommendations for improvement to either product or service in Room Service.
• To respond to guest concerns and solicit guest feedback.
• To participate in the daily pre-shift meeting.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

What you'll offer us:

• One year serving experience in Food & Beverage is preferred
• Candidate must have knowledge of local health and liquor laws
• Smart Serve Certification required
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Knowledge of Micros preferred
• Basic knowledge of wine, beer and spirits an asset
• Proven ability to meet and exceed guest expectations.
• Personable, organized, and able to prioritize.
• Must thrive in a team environment.
• Have a good knowledge of the tourism and hospitality offerings in Toronto.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts/days including weekends (morning shifts start at 5:45am)
