Summary
Reporting to the Sanitation Lead, as a Sanitation Technician, you will be responsible for fulfilling all duties related to sanitation and the maintenance of corresponding records, as well as supporting other activity at the production facility. Many of these tasks are repetitive and require precision and close attention to detail for an extended period of time.
Responsibilities:
· Clean both production and non-production areas and maintain a log of all cleaning
activities.
· Clean/sanitize all production equipment.
· Maintain inventory of all cleaning and janitorial products.
· Adhere to Mera Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
· Maintain safe and efficient use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and
chemicals.
· Assist in building and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.
· On-call for some evenings and weekends.
· Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
· Minimum completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
· At least 1 year of Sanitation experience in the Food or Pharmaceutical Industry (e.g. at a processing or manufacturing facility)
· Open to an entrepreneurial work environment with the rapid adaption of routines and processes.
· Keen to learn new sanitation techniques and methodologies.
· Must be able to take direction
· Strong sense of ownership over the work that you conduct.
· Openness to receiving and providing feedback to others.
· Previous food or pharmaceutical facility sanitation experience preferred.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hand to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or regularly move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is normal.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is normal. The employee is frequently exposed to an environment of natural chemical fumes, herbal aromas, airborne particles, exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Employee will have moderate exposure to conditions such as dust and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or the skin, depending on department job assignments. Personal Protective Equipment is provided for employees to use.
