We're currently seeking a Seasonal Materials Technician to join us for an approximately 8-10 month term.
The Opportunity:
As part of our impressive team of engineers and technologists, you'll have the opportunity to work both in the field and the lab, performing monitoring and testing under the guidance of our technical services supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting field and laboratory testing of asphalt, concrete, soil, and aggregate
- Monitoring and testing for construction QC/QA
- Assisting with foundation construction
- Monitoring fill placement and compaction
- Conducting concrete monitoring and testing
- Compiling detailed field and laboratory reports
- Assisting in resolving technical issues on-site
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a construction setting is considered an asset
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management
- Willingness to work up to 12 hours a day, including weekends and overtime as needed
- Availability for out-of-town projects
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on safety excellence
- Preference will be given to candidates with CCIL certification, construction experience, and safety tickets
