- Work with internal secondary suite team to assist with short term and long-term strategies to promote safety and increase permit applications for legal, registered suites within Calgary.
- Support in development and or administration of the secondary suite incentive program including but not limited to research into its effectiveness.
- Engage with current suite owners, assist with applications and informing about process and safety requirements. Implement strategies to identify illegal suites and follow up with citizens.
- Manage difficult situations with empathy and strive for positive encounters and results with citizens.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a diploma or degree in Architectural Technologies, Architecture, Planning Technologies, Urban Planning, Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or related educational disciplines.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft (Excel and PowerPoint), Public One Stop Service Experience (POSSE) will be considered an asset.
- Previous customer service experience is an asset.
- Strong communication skills, including confidence in leading meetings with a variety of individuals.
- A team player who has the ability to work autonomously with little supervision.
- Able to collect and interpret formal and informal data.
- Excited about improving municipal process to support the citizens of Calgary.
- Relational, patient and empathetic in difficult situations, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2024.
- If invited to an interview, you will be asked to provide an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification letter (indicating the program and year you are currently completing).
