About Our Client
This is for a well-established corporation that has grown tremendously in both the Canadian and US markets since its inception. They have recently expanded operations into Europe and are looking to add additional support to their finance team to enhance their growth.
Job Description
The Senior Accounts Payable candidate's responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Oversee the complete Accounts Payable process for a specific group of vendors, from receipt to payment.
- Receive, validate, verify, and reconcile invoices
- Correct invoice coding and processing
- Ensure that internal control processes (e.g., internal authorizations, etc.) are followed.
- Ensure that payments are completed in accordance with vendor conditions, including the use of discount possibilities.
- Plan and execute cheque runs, as well as keep a record of payments to be sent via wire.
- AP sub-ledger reconciliations
- Keeping track of purchases for the purpose of tracking vendor rebates
- Verification of vendor/customer accounts by reconciling monthly statements - investigate and resolve any inconsistencies with vendor/customer as needed
- Assistance during interim and yearly external audits
- Maintain pleasant and strong vendor-customer connections
- Participate in numerous ad-hoc projects targeted at process improvement and efficiency.
- Assist the Accounts Receivable team on an ad-hoc basis.
