Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Senior Advisor, Business Improvement & Intelligence.
Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site
Responsibilities:
• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Align Business Improvement initiatives with the organization’s goals and objectives
• Work directly with the various area leads to develop improvement roadmaps that drive improvements to site KPIs
• Lead and manage process improvement projects to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality
• Work with departments to evaluate ideas, drive organizational change management strategies, and sustain initiatives
• Coach idea owners to implement sustainable Business Improvement projects
• Identify potential opportunities and initiatives to apply and improve site performance through the application of an in-depth understanding of the mining business, key cost centers, business drivers and validate reported benefits against a common framework and methodology
• Facilitate data-driven idea generating sessions to identify, establish root cause, and resolve problems
• Use data-driven insights to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
• Implement data analysis tools and methodologies to assess business performance
• Mentor others on a wide range of database and analytic techniques
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering or related technical field is required
• Minimum of eight (8) years experience in a technical role, including a minimum of three (3) years in a Business Improvement role, preferably in the mining industry
• Experience using Business Improvement tools i.e. Root cause analysis, OEE, mistake proofing, DMAIC, & 5S is required
• Advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, applications
• Strong Business Intelligence skillset, including ability to design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using industry leading tools and practices
• Proficient in data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar
• Programming experience in at least one coding language
• Strong interpersonal communication, written and verbal skills.
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a team environment and work effectively across all levels of the business
• A willingness to continually learn, both from others and from internet resources to keep your skillset sharp in a rapidly evolving technical area
