What is the opportunity?

This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your technology skills while continuing to build your cybersecurity knowledge and experience in a fast-paced and continuously evolving space. Situated within the Global Cyber Security portfolio, this role will support Identity and Access Management technologies used for secure employee and customer authentication to RBC systems.

As the Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, production support and ongoing maintenance of applications providing Single Sign On and Multi-Factor Authentication services across the bank. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, solution design and development and has direct experience with the configuration and deployment of large scale and complex systems. This role involves rotational after hours (evening and weekend) support schedules

What will you do?

  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Identity & Access Management services, vendors and product offerings.
  • Provide L3 production support by continuously monitoring the health and security posture of the application and investigating, troubleshooting and resolving reported incidents and compliance issues.
  • Leverage next-generation monitoring and alerting tools to identify and resolve troublesome trends and problems
  • Interface with other technology practitioners such as server, middleware, database, and cryptography teams for the build, upgrades, renewals, and decommissioning of systems and certificates
  • Collaborate effectively with the development teams by identifying defects and opportunities for efficiencies through automation and enhancements
  • Deploy products and changes (as handed off by the Engineering team) into testing and production environments, communicating upcoming changes to impacted stakeholders, and identifying the requirement to complete user acceptance testing and/or post implementation verification
  • Build and maintain testing and production environments including but not limited to: ensuring RBC required patching is maintained, ensuring currency on applications including testing, hotfixes and service packs, and support application integrations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business and technology partners to help achieve operational efficiencies and satisfy business goals
  • Handle escalations and manage partner as well as internal resources expectations

What do you need to succeed?

Must-haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or equivalent education and work experience
  • 5+ years of technical experience with strong knowledge in the installation, configuration, and support of highly scalable systems including front-end servers, web servers, back-end servers and databases, application interfaces, load-balancing, firewall technology, etc.
  • Hands-on experiences on Linux, Java, WebSphere, Oracle Database, Tomcat and LDAP
  • Strong problem solving and investigative skills to dive deep into data, logs and technological behaviors observed across multiple interfacing and large scale systems
  • Understanding of Cybersecurity best practices and principles such as confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and systems, Privileged Access Management, Cryptography and Encryption, Data Loss Protection, Secure Design and Application Security Testing
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to provide clear and concise summaries and executive updates
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, manage multiple priorities effectively, and take initiative to complete tasks with little oversight and direction required
  • Ability to learn quickly, picking up new technologies/skills and business knowledge, in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to have

  • Industry security or risk related certification – CISSP, CRISC, COMP TIA, etc.
  • Familiar with Information security standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of financial services business line(s) and associated application and processes
  • Knowledge of infrastructure, cloud solution, compliance and audit, regulatory requirements
