What is the opportunity?
As Senior Director, Internal Audit, CFO Group, you will be a Strategic and tactical leader, with global impact, who is providing independent and objective evaluation of the effectiveness of the CFO Group, which includes Finance, Tax and Corporate Treasury. This includes audit strategy and coverage of the CFO Group processes and controls.
You will be a facilitator of cross platform collaboration for ONE RBC and be able to work in a dynamically changing environment. You will assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, corporate governance processes, and fraud prevention and detection, in the Audit Platform. As well provide insights to the Audit Group, and act as a trusted advisor to the business. You will also develop capability of team use of analytic tools to widen scope of assurance and operate in a global resource model assigned to a home platform but capable of working in any RBC platform as part of a pool of resources.

What will you do?
- Provide leadership, professional guidance, and development opportunities to a talented team of Internal Audit Directors and Senior Managers.
- Responsible for strategic leadership, planning and strategy for an audit group that has a global impact including Canada, US, Europe and APAC.
- Engages Executives, Regulators, External Auditors on a regular basis to facilitate proactive and ongoing, formal and informal, monitoring and insights.
- Manages highly sensitive situations with high-impact outcomes (with stakeholders) that could have material impact on the platform, and escalates enterprise issues to Chief Auditor in accordance with the IA escalation protocol.
- Recommends annual audit plan for a material component, and oversees the execution of annual audit plan and reporting to executives.
- Drives the continual assessment of key and emerging risks, and adjusts annual plans as necessary.
- Shifts the capabilities of team members towards a predictive insights-driven organization.
- Identifies and drives to completion, key analytics that could help the enterprise mitigate risk or reduce costs.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Leadership, People Management, Relationship building and client experience
- Business and/or audit experience (strategic planning through reporting) in a senior leadership role, as evidenced by 10-15 years of experience.
- Experience with Finance, Capital, Liquidity, Funding and Interest Rate Risk management.
- Experience dealing with Regulators - OSFI and / or key global regulators.
- CPA designation or equivalent is a must.
Nice-to-have
- Experience in multiple Finance functions, such as Tax, Corporate Development or Product Control.
