JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:
small team of dedicated Asset Management professionals that have responsibility to deliver the
following functions:
- Plan, develop and maintain asset management policies, strategies, and standards for the
SCADA equipment in order to maximize the total-life-cycle value of these assets.
- Ensure on-going compliance with applicable NERC/WECC PRC mandatory reliability standards.
- Identify and prioritize asset needs (OMA and Capital), optimize maintenance and capital

- Manage and maintain positive working relationships with multiple groups throughout BC Hydro
Chain, Safety, and Project and Program Delivery etc.).
- Develop and maintain asset management procurement strategies for key equipment; establish
timely restoration of failed systems.
- Plan and initiate capital projects including the preparation of supporting investment justifications
prioritized P&C/Tel sustaining capital projects.
- Develop strategic alternatives, drive initiatives, formulate plans, evaluate risks, research and

- Provide P&C/Tel subject-matter-expertise to other asset management teams within Integrated
- Participate in the development and definition of asset management strategies and ensure they
- Provide maintenance perspective expertise to enable the organization to meet its business
- Contribute to the ongoing sustainment of positive relationships with external service and
accomplish business objectives and address issues.
- Possess strong business acumen and contribute to managerial and operational decision making.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by Universities in Canada.
- Registered, or eligible for immediate registration, as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and
- Minimum of eight (8) years of proven experience working as an electrical engineer, managing
electrical utility at transmission voltages (500kV, 230kV, 138kV, and 69kV), as well as, distribution
voltages. Thorough knowledge of Protection Control and Telecommunication facilities and
networking solutions is required.
- Demonstrated experience with the planning, design, maintenance, testing and commissioning of
applications on the T&D power delivery system.
- Experience should also include asset management of special protection and control systems
and remedial action schemes (RAS).
- Demonstrated experience managing on-going compliance with NERC/WECC PRC Standards.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple programs/projects and to plan and manage project
- Well-developed planning, organizational, project management, analytical, problem solving and

Flexible work model role definitions
===========================
Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home
based on the type of work they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for
each position and the operational requirements. Employees also have the right to work full-time
from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person time.
IBEW/Field – No option to work from home
Resident – Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid – May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote – Works from home 4+ days per week
