JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Health & Safety Coordinator works under the direction of the Executive and is a part of the overall Flightcraft Family. They will support and work alongside all areas of the company and foster the team atmosphere of Flightcraft. He/she ensures all aspects of company Safety & Training are maintained to business standards, with a keen focus on building and implementing the overall Policy and Procedure manual. Quality internal customer service, in-depth safety functions, attention to detail, and teamwork are key components to being a successful team member. Multi-tasking and verbal/written communication skills, energetic, outgoing, understanding and accepting of change. They must also be flexible and able to deal with the adapting nature of aviation, Canada Labour Code, and Governmental requirements. The Health & Safety Coordinator represents Flightcraft, and its team, and as a result must present a professional, unwavering leadership character.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver initial and recurrent company specific training for all agents
  • Administering and filing all examinations as required
  • Ensuring that the most up-to-date materials, including examinations, are provided to the students
  • Acquiring log in information for new hires
  • Ensuring Initial Training Record is complete and on file
  • Update Training Matrix (or electronic database) with records of recurrent training – Submit to Learning and Development department quarterly
  • Maintaining training records (physical/electronic) onsite
  • Monitoring records for expiring training and ensuring team members complete recurrent training prior to expiry
  • Compliance with Operations Bulletins Procedure
  • Spearheading all Health & Safety meetings
  • Updating and maintaining safety records, including WHMIS, Dangerous Goods, SDS
  • Ensuring Ground Operations Manual is up to date at all times
  • Creating training classes for new employees
  • Ensure all employees are following Transport Canada and Airport Authority policies and procedures

Qualifications and Requirements

  • College diploma in Training & Standards, and/or Business Admin, and/or Safety
  • Two years' experience working in a team environment.
  • Solid understanding of Google for Business, Microsoft O/S, Office Products.
  • Must have valid driver's license with clean abstract.
  • Must be able to travel within the Flightcraft network of airports, and other destinations as required.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand the English language.
  • Must have public speaking experience.
  • Must have excellent team player competencies.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to adapt to the changing nature of aviation.
