Invites applications for the position of:
Senior Human Resources Coordinator - Academic Services
One (1) Permanent Full-Time Position
Exempt Level 7C ($ 82,008 to $100,982 per annum)
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Academic Services Specialist, the Senior Human Resources Coordinator - Academic Services expertly develops, implements, evaluates and continuously improves processes and procedures related to staffing functions
Major Responsibilities:
Manage and lead Human Resources staff on the day-to-day functions, ensuring the team possesses the skills necessary to meet and exceed performance expectations of various Human Resources activities.
Expertly advises and supports managers and school leaders on Human Resources matters such as recruitment, staffing, interpretation and application of collective agreements, terms of employment, as it relates to staffing.
Develop, coordinate and implement various HR related system memos, documents, reports, guidelines and processes as they pertain to Human Resources.
Supports the grievance process by being a resource to the Management Team. As well as actively participate in mediation and arbitration hearings.
Coordinate and review staffing forecasting and staff allocation requirements and develop strategies.
Assist with the annual academic staffing, enrollment, elementary class size organizations and secondary school staffing.
Lead job postings and interviews, as well as coordinate and present job offers to selected candidates.
Provide advice to managers and school leaders in the interpretation and application of collective agreements, Board policies and procedures.
Track, monitor and maintain staffing and seniority lists for all teaching positions, as well as completing supporting staff documents.
Verify and authorize reports to Union partners within the applicable Collective Agreements.
Verify and authorize timesheets related to overtime hours.
Lead and coordinate the implementation of the centrally assigned Itinerant Teacher programs.
Provide coaching, counseling and advice to Itinerant Teacher personnel on various employee relations issues.
Oversee the allocation and staffing of International Language Instructors.
Actively participate and support the collective bargaining negotiation process for designated employee groups. Implements the new collective bargaining agreement articles pertaining to staffing of teachers.
Qualifications and Experience:
Advanced College Diploma or University Degree or equivalent with a focus in Human Resources Management or related discipline.
3 to 4 years of experience with extensive knowledge of public sector and collective agreement interpretation
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Experience using SAP
