Description:
Our client located in Manitoba is looking for a Program Manager to manage the performance of assigned project managers while proactively monitoring and resolving project roadblocks in alignment with the PMO. The successful candidate will have 10+ years’ experience managing IT projects and a valid PMP certification.
Responsibilities:
-Manage the performance of assigned project managers.
-Ensure project managers comply with PMO methodology.
-Proactively monitor and resolve project roadblocks in alignment with PMO guidance.
-Address project team conflicts.
-Ensure project managers assertively address conflicts with stakeholders and sponsors.
-Review and approve key project management artifacts.
-Ensure the following project management activities are performed according to client standards:
-Project initiation and planning. 
-Budget development, tracking, and variance reporting.
-Resource planning and assignment.
-Schedule management (develop, control and update).
-Status reporting.
-Issue management, including issue logging, tracking, and escalation.
-Project change management, utilizing the change control process to manage changes to project scope, budget, and schedule.
-Quality management, including review and assurance of deliverables prior to acceptance.
-Risk management, including risk assessment, contingency planning, tracking risk status, and initiating contingency plans.
-Communication management, including communication planning and execution of the plan.
-Deliverable acceptance process, including identification of who will be accepting project deliverables and the process that will be used.
Required Experience and Skills:
-Minimum of 10 years of experience managing Information Technology projects.
-Valid PMP certification.
-Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
-Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis and developing solution options.
-Excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
-Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
-Expertise in project lifecycles, and project planning including Resource, cost, and schedule estimation.
-Experience developing business cases.
-Experience providing oversight and managing performance of project managers.
-Strong facilitation skills.
-PRINCE2 Practitioner certification is desired.
-Experience planning and managing projects in a Public Sector organization is considered an asset.
-Familiarity with Smartsheet is desired.
-Must have Windows based computer with standard Windows 10 applications.
-Must possess own communication device.
