Kinark currently has an opportunity for a permanent full time Senior Manager, Enterprise Architecture and IT Strategy. This role is mostly remote; however, the successful candidate will be required to go into the office in Markham periodically.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the primary role of the Senior Manager, Enterprise Architecture and IT Strategy is to provide leadership, knowledge and direction to employees, the organization and its processes to ensure the services provided by the IT Business Systems and Applications team fit with the overall strategic direction of Kinark.

This role will be pivotal in the development and evolution of the IT Business Systems and Applications team, which includes its ongoing commitment to sustain and improve Kinark’s Client Information System (CIS), fostering technology innovation through continuous development & improvement and development of Kinark’s IT Strategy and Roadmaps. The successful candidate will guide the development and implementation of associated practices, governance, and processes to ensure efficiency and security within Kinark.

Our ideal candidate will have a stellar track record of providing strong leadership to ensure that the services offered fit within the overall strategic direction of Kinark and will have strong IT knowledge and proven ability to manage change in a complex business and stakeholder environment.

Enterprise Architecture and Operational Management:
  • Leads the IT Business Systems and Applications team, conducts operational planning, provides project management oversight, organizes and allocates necessary IT resources based on needs
  • Builds collaborative relationships within Kinark’s business and operational stakeholders and identifies critical areas for improvement associated with the implementation of technology or business processes
  • Evaluates existing systems and technologies and make recommendations to the Director, Information technology through a continuous development and improvement lens
  • Conducts business process analysis, workflow mapping, etc., to translate organizational needs into systems design, system improvements, and prioritization of initiatives based on operational and business impact.
  • Identifies opportunities for automation, develops plans to integrate and improve existing business processes related to IT Applications
  • Ability to execute key technology initiatives within Kinark with industry best practices
  • Strong stakeholder management experience with the ability to work well with internal business unit SMEs, external vendors, and end users in cross-functional teams who work remotely
Strategy and Planning:
  • Develops risk management strategy to identify and address risks to project outcomes resulting from business systems, data systems, etc.
  • Works closely with Operations, Finance, and Decision Support teams on setting up success criteria, KPIs, OKRs and other dashboards to track performance against strategic goals
  • Manages IT budgets and resources, including preparation and ongoing management of estimates and plans
  • Provides thought leadership, consultation and advice to Kinark’s Leadership Team, develop business strategies that will improve efficiency within Kinark
  • In collaboration with the Director, Information Technology leads the strategic planning initiatives within the technology team to align technology and business strategy
Acquisition & Deployment:
  • Strong experience writing RFPs, RFQs, RFIs and SOWs
  • Participates in vendor evaluation and selection process by providing recommendations based on experience and subject matter expertise
  • Process and review organizational IT purchases according to Kinark’s procurement policies and procedures
  • Manage several major vendors and their SLAs, provision of cost-effective services, etc.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • University degree or college diploma in the field of computer science or information systems and a minimum of 8 years of related work experience required
  • 3 to 5 years of previous management experience preferred
  • Relevant leadership experience in a technology-oriented role preferred
  • Strong experience in business process management, data mapping, data automation, mind mapping, workflow management, business process automation, etc.
  • Experience across the SDLC (Agile, Waterfall, etc.), including requirements, design, development, testing, documentation, training, deployment, operations, support and maintenance
  • Not-for-profit or healthcare experience is preferred

  • Possess strong written and presentational skills; ability to clearly communicate complex ideas, processes and messages to a variety of audiences, including senior management

Kinark Child and Family Services conditions of employment include but are not limited to successful Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, completed Pre-Employment Medical certificate, and proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. Fully vaccinated is defined as having received all required doses of a World Health Organization Approved COVID-19 Vaccine at least one of which being approved for use in Canada and 14 days have passed since your last dose. Proof of vaccination for each vaccine dose received is required.
