About the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Data Analytics & Media Intelligence,the Media Analyst / Senior Media Analystplays a significant role in preparing media coverage analysis reports for our clients – including understanding their needs, designing, implementing, reviewing, and delivering the final product.
Ideal candidates possess excellent communication skills, editorial acumen, a solid grasp of the PR sector, and strong analytical capabilities, both quantitative and qualitative. Attention to detail, superior organizational and time management skills, and a curious, analytical mindset are essential. A keen interest in news, social media, and digital analytics is beneficial.
The role demands collaboration with clients, across departments and with international team members. Beyond report creation, responsibilities extend to enhancing quality and efficiency by training, reviewing, and guiding overseas colleagues, ensuring high standards are met across the board. This position suits a data-savvy individual passionate about storytelling through data and visualizations.
What you’ll be doing:
- Gain expertise in utilizing diverse platforms to track and evaluate media coverage across various channels, including print, online, broadcast, blogs, and social media.
- Employ rigorous analytical methods and the right mix of data sources and tools to craft executive-level reports that feature intuitive data visualizations and insightful, written analysis.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of client reports from initial data gathering, analysis, and delivery. Tasks include monitoring media, tagging, sentiment analysis, and crafting summaries and insights.
- Manage a portfolio of client reports to ensure they are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and are profitable.
- Support and mentor overseas analysts by reviewing their work for quality, providing constructive feedback, and guiding them to achieve excellence in data accuracy, analysis, writing, data visualization, and presentation.
- Document report creation processes and train team members, ensuring they can take on reporting processes you have designed, while you can serve as a backup and quality control on those reports as needed.
- Undertake additional tasks as required to support the team's goals.
What we need you to bring:

While a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is beneficial, we welcome applicants from a variety of educational backgrounds who possess the necessary skills and experience for the Media Analyst / Sr. Media Analyst role.
- At least one year of experience in data analysis, market research, digital marketing, media monitoring, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and a basic understanding of statistics.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with a knack for simplifying complex concepts for a general audience.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and juggle multiple priorities efficiently.
- When required, willingness to work outside of standard business hours to meet urgent client needs.
- Competence in delivering consultative advice to clients through phone, video, and email communications.
Desirable Skills:
- Proficiency in Python/Pandas/Streamlit for data science and internal application development.
- Building dashboards in Power BI and similar platforms.
- Creating Excel Macros to streamline repetitive manual processes.
