Position Title: Sr Experience Designer

External Description:

BioWare creates games focused on rich stories, unforgettable characters and vast worlds. It operates primarily out of Edmonton (Alberta, CAN) and Austin (Texas, USA) creating some of the world's most critically acclaimed titles since 1995. The studio is currently working on future game experiences for the Mass Effect™ franchise, one of the highest rated video game series of all time, and the Dragon Age™ franchise, whose latest entry was the 2014 Game of the Year. We are also working on announced projects Star Wars™ The Old Republic™, a story-driven massively multiplayer online game, and Anthem™, a co-operative Action-RPG set in a new and mysterious world.

The Senior UX Artist will report to the Lead UX Artist

Responsibilities:

You will:
  • Contribute to the competitive analysis and documentation, gathering and organization of references for large features
  • Work with our team of programmers, producers and designers through all stages of development to implement UX assets.
  • Create high-fidelity concept designs for multiple large features, assets, and visual design systems
  • Influence the creation of style guides and visual direction
  • Collaborate with technical designers to ensure visual direction is technically feasible
  • Share in critique sessions to provide input to personal and peers work
Qualifications:
  • At least 5+ years of experience as a UX or UI Artist, working with current engines and tools or related experience
  • Advanced understanding of graphic deign fundamentals (layout, composition, color, and typography)
  • Demonstrated high-level proficiency in related artistic and technical ability
  • Experience working with groups within design, programming, and production
  • Experience with current editors and game engines with the ability to implement and manipulate content
  • Knowledge of RPG's and Action genres
