Service Technician (In-House), Surgical Workplaces

Within the Service department, we are looking for…

The In-House Service Technician, Surgical Workplaces is responsible for service depot repairs and providing telephone/email support to internal teams and customers. In addition, the position will be expected to provide backup coverage to the field service team, responding to emergency calls and scheduling preventive maintenance visits to meet service agreement obligations, focusing on quality service and customer satisfaction for the Surgical Workflows division.

The Candidate we seek will be responsible for:

  • Repair and complete preventative maintenance of incoming customer and demo equipment.
  • Address technical inquiries received from internal teams and external customers via telephone and email.
  • Provide field service support for the installation, inspection, repair and preventative maintenance of products for customers.
  • Calibrate and service electrical or electronic medical equipment and instruments according to technical manuals and written instructions.
  • Maintain positive, professional communication with customers, service team members and service operations group.
  • Document all activities in accordance with Service policies and procedures.
  • Make decisions based on policies and procedures and discuss and refer unresolved customer service issues to the Manager.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Sales team.
  • Protect company assets and maintain loaner and test equipment, spare parts inventory, and other company equipment and supplies in good condition and working order.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Build quality into all aspects of work.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by management.

The Candidate we seek must possess:

  • Biomedical Engineering Degree or Diploma preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a field service representative, bio-med, or in technical repair or related technical field.
  • Strong technical proficiency in using schematics, system diagrams, and repair/replacement procedures to troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate all products assigned.
  • Detailed oriented, excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Well-organized and able to carry out tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Able to present service solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Exhibits a high level of critical thinking ability.
  • Customer-oriented and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Use of computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories/devices to complete assignments.
  • Ability to travel internationally (Passport required).
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle (valid driver’s license required).

Position Eligible for Remote Work: Field

This role will be located in Mississauga, ON.
