Shipper/Receiver

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our team in our fabrication shop. The Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for coordinating the shipping and receiving of goods, including tracking shipments, preparing documents, and ensuring accuracy of orders. The successful candidate should have strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and process incoming shipments, including verifying the contents of packages and inspecting them for damages.
• Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs forms.
• Coordinate with carriers to arrange for the pickup and delivery of goods.
• Track and update shipment status, including providing status updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Ensure accuracy of orders by verifying product numbers, quantities, and condition of goods.
• Inspect and document any damages or discrepancies with incoming or outgoing shipments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including properly storing and labeling products.
• Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Communicate with internal teams, including foreman, project managers, and logistics, to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery of goods.
• Comply with all safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in shipping and receiving.
• Familiarity with shipping software and systems is an asset.
• Knowledge of proper handling and storage of goods, including hazardous materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate data entry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Training will be provided.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in a warehouse or construction job site environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Salary: From $18.00 per hour
