Position Summary
The Shop Labourer is accountable for performing general duties to assist in the efficient running of the Strada Crush Shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Material handling within the shop & outdoors as required;
- Cleaning and maintenance of company vehicles;
- Assist with maintenance of heavy equipment & other operational machinery as requested;
- Maintain a clean & safe work area, including tools;
- Safely operate company vehicle to pick up &/or deliver parts as required;
- Any additional duties & responsibilities as may be assigned, from time to time;

Education and Experience
- Completion of secondary school an asset;
- Valid “G” Driver’s license (required);
- Clean driver's abstract (will be required to provide proof thereof);
Health and Safety
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations, & internal policies and procedures;
- Report to his or her supervisor any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger any person;
- Report to his or her manager the contravention of the OHSA, regulations, or company H&S policies & procedures or any observed hazard;
- Refrain from operating any equipment, machine, device or thing or otherwise working in a manner that may endanger anyone;
- Avoid engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct;
- Know, understand & implement safe work practices & procedures;
- Know, understand & employ established rules & procedures for handling materials, equipment & processes (e.g. reporting unlabelled containers, using proper lifting techniques, etc.);
- Request that worn out or defective equipment be replaced;
- Use all safety devices provided, ensuring optimum condition of devices & report any defects immediately to a supervisor;
- Use equipment & materials only in the manner intended;
- Report all injuries, incidents, hazards & unusual conditions immediately to supervisor;
- Attend all required health & safety training programs (e.g. WHMIS, orientation), & apply knowledge to daily operating procedures;
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures as related to your work area.
Working Conditions
- Typical hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, additional hours including occasional weekends when required ;
- Significant physical effort. Significant exposure to environmental conditions. Moderate limited movement.
