Job description

Shuttle Driver (Class 4 Driver's License)

The primary responsibility of this role is to safely transport clients between the dealership and their destinations, while providing the highest level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.

Job Type: This position is casual, as needed for coverage.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Safely operate company shuttle vehicle to transport clients and packages to various destinations.
  • Drive safely, responsibly and be prepared for all road conditions.
  • Adhere to NL Traffic Act, safety policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Provide a warm welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact and a friendly verbal greeting, using the client names when possible, and while delivering exceptional customer service throughout their journey.
  • Assist passengers with boarding or exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Assist passengers by storing and retrieving any luggage to and from the appropriate compartment.
  • Maintain an accurate record of client pickups and drop-offs in the company log.
  • Conduct mail delivery and pickup, bank deposits, and other miscellaneous errands as needed.
  • Perform pre-shift and post-shift checks to ensure vehicle lights, brakes, wipers, tire pressure and tire condition are in optimal condition.
  • Ensure the vehicle is fueled or charged throughout shift and at the end of shift.
  • Conduct vigilant vehicle inspections in between runs for cleanliness, damage, or debris, reporting any issues to the Service Manager or Supervisor.
  • Complete other duties as assigned to meet company objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School diploma preferred, will consider skills and competences of past experiences.
  • 5+ years of safe and incident-free driving experience.
  • Valid Class 4 Drivers License required.
  • Clear Drivers abstract is required annually.
  • Certificate of Good Conduct required.

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Drivers must be well groomed and appropriately attired for the season.
  • Available to work 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Working Conditions:

  • Conducting tasks indoors, outdoors and in all types of weather conditions.
  • Driving a motor vehicle in all types of weather, lighting, road, and traffic conditions. Drivers must be alert to conditions on the road, especially in heavy and congested traffic or in bad weather.
  • Reaching overhead, below the knees. Occasional bending, twisting, and pulling.
  • Exposure to contaminants, such as exhaust from cars.
  • Exposure to extremely bright or inadequate lighting while driving.
  • Work near other people, but usually have a few feet of space separating them from passengers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily work while in a motor vehicle.
  • Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Sitting for extended periods while operating a motor vehicle; walking and standing as required.
  • Must take precautions to prevent accidents and avoid sudden stops, turns, and other driving maneuvers that would jar passengers.

Safety Expectations

  • Follow OH&S Act and OH&S Regulations.
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Understand registration, inspection and collision reporting process and procedures.
  • Ensure you are well rested and able to perform your duties.
  • Drivers must carry their driver’s license with them when on duty driving.
  • If the license becomes lost, stolen or destroyed, operations must be notified immediately, and a replacement must be obtained before the driver may continue driving.

Salary: $15.60 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
