About the Position
The Site Safety Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, and auditing safety programs throughout the plant, laboratory, pilot, and office locations, which includes programs for Process Safety Management and emergency response.
You will be responsible for:
- Lead the Origin Site Safety orientation process and provide current health and safety information
- Coordinate and manage the safety training programs along with safety training records
- Manage the Hazards and Effects Register by adding learnings from incidents, and support the identity of PPE requirements in Origin Procedures
- Coordinate emergency response services, defining procedures and scheduling drills
- Lead the investigation of incidents and root causes analysis, and adds learnings to OM Processes
- Owner and technical authority of the Incident Management Procedure
- Management of safety programs like BSO, TASC, JSA, FLRA, etc.
- Monitor and Report Site Safety objectives and targets
- Advise site leaders on opportunities for improvement and safety management initiatives
- Support environmental program as a back-up resource
About You:
- Conscientious and detail-oriented while tracking issues to resolution, reporting and elevating any barriers to success
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization including external stakeholders and partners
- Strong organizational skills and well developed attention to detail
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a proven ability to consistently meet deadlines and manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic industrial site setting
- Team-oriented with the ability to work effectively across all functions within the company
- Strong prioritization skills, effective emergency response behaviours and efficient time management
Your Experience:
- College degree preferably in EHS studies
- Minimum 10 years’ experience working in a EHS support role in an industrial setting
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Must have prior experience working with Ontario legislation
