In keeping with the Company’s mission and values, the SMT Operator performs and maintains all SMT process steps related to LUCID’s hardware manufacturing processes. The SMT Operator takes ownership of the SMT process to produce populated circuit boards. All with a focus on excellent output, quality, and scalability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use, maintain, create, and update various machine programs for the SMT process such as Screen Printer, SPI, Pick and Place, Reflow Oven, AOI, Depaneling Machine, to ensure consistent operation of the PCB manufacturing process.
- Develop and implement SMT production process steps, regularly providing feedback or recommendations to continually optimize existing processes.
- Participate in the operation of various SMT production lines, both directly and indirectly with a focus on quality and repeatability.
- Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot issues, escalating complex issues with Vendor Support as needed.
- Perform regularly scheduled Preventative Maintenance for all SMT equipment to ensure proper upkeep while minimizing downtime.
- Participate in the procurement process with the internal Buyer by requesting quotes, vetting suppliers, and comparing options for new equipment to support the SMT production system.
- Perform post-SMT process steps for transferring populated boards into stock, ensuring accurate representation in inventory counts.
- Other related duties, as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience operating an SMT line.
- Very attentive and detail-oriented mindset.
- Adaptable and willing to learn and apply new skills.
- Excellent communicator, willing to work with other teams.
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Experience with optical inspection equipment (SPI/AOI).
- Experience with Pick & Place machines.
