The Opportunity:
Join our team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in hydropower projects, where you'll play a key role in client interactions, team leadership, and the mentorship of emerging engineers. This position offers a unique chance to contribute to the design of both new installations and upgrades for energy owners, encompassing a diverse range of projects within the hydropower sector.
Responsibilities:
- Lead teams and provide direction for the successful execution of hydropower projects.
- Design and engineer solutions for various aspects of hydropower projects, including but not limited to:
- Hydro turbine new and upgrades
- Pumped Energy Storage
- Turbine and generator bearings
- Bearing oil systems
- Generator cooling systems
- Hydro plant assessments and capital investment planning
- Dam and water conveyance projects (radial gates, large valves)
- Raw water systems
- Fire protection systems
- Control air systems
- Compressed Air Systems
- Heating and Ventilation Systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience in hydropower or a related field.
- Previous experience with engineering projects in a utility power plant setting.
- Experience in design or operation support of conventional or pumped storage hydroelectric generation stations.
- Previous experience in a client-facing and problem-solving role.
Certifications:
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
