We are currently seeking a SSIS/SQL/MicroStrategy BI Developer - REMOTE to join our team in this fully remote role! You can be based anywhere in Canada!
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Working on the development of new BI (Business Intelligence) ETL Packages/Process to achieve the new Clients requirements and setup new Clients.
- Analysis and study of existing systems and plug the new ETL Packages within the system.
- Working closely with Project managers, user interaction designers, and onsite offshore software engineers to deliver new and enhancement projects.
- Design the Data foundation/ Data Lake and the business layers in BI Dashboard.
- Security roles & user groups definition for BI Reporting Tool.
- Creation of dashboard for easy monitoring and alerting
- Building new environments for BI Tool and Version controlling and upgrades as per latest patch.
- Develop strategy regarding overall architecture and infrastructure, identifies and defines necessary system enhancements, analyzes existing system logic, identifies problems and recommends and implements solutions.
- System and application performance analysis, co-ordination, and remediation.
- BI Environment Application Maintenance & Production Support (Incidents, Service Requests) using BMC Remedy (OPAS) tool.
- Provide technical support to troubleshoot application, systems and BI reports.
- Recommend and implement improvements in maintenance methods in BI Environment.
- Identify ways to increase efficiency and improve effectiveness of work performed and reduce redundant issues.
- Debugging deep into the code structure to understand complex BI Packages and Reports and troubleshoot Process/data problems.
- Working with Production, development and business users for post deployment validation, closure and Post deployment issues.
- Providing support for the BI applications outside normal hours including weekends where needed to address production issues or new releases to the application.
- Working with the cross functional teams for Backups, DR and regular maintenance to ensure the system is up and running all over the time.
- Provide technical oversight across systems and applications, leverage skills across team and BI department.
- Defect tracking and issue resolving via HP Quality Center
- Ensure technical delivery of medium to large scale projects on time and within budget.
- Prepare Status Report and Project Plan using MS Project Plan and Sharepoint.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of experience with Business Intelligence
- SQL, SSIS,MicroStrategy (Primary)
