The role:

As a StaffAccountant, you will be an integral member of the Finance and Accounting team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring efficient and accurate inputs into the accounting system, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, credit card transactions, intercompany transactions, and cash payments
• Accurate maintenance and reconciliation of monthly amortization schedules and internal working papers
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements
• Investor-related inquiries, working papers, and calculations
• Review loan funding requests and verify commission calculations
• Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiencies
• Assist in analyses as required
• Maintain electronic filing system to provide accurate paperwork records
• Additional projects and ad-hoc work as assigned

Required experience, knowledge, and skills:

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• Comprehensive computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps
• Hands-on experience with accounting software
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven success working both independently and as part of a team
• Prior bookkeeping/accounting experience or meaningful education in accounting
