Job Summary
Contribute to the Permitting Transformation, Water Authorizations Program in British Columbia
Reporting to a Senior Authorizations Specialist, the Senior Authorizations Technologist provides technical advice, support and recommendations regarding the allocation of water and adjudication of water authorizations under the Water Sustainability Act for the West Coast Region.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
• Diploma or higher in natural resource management or a related field, OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience working in natural resource management.
Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
• Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes (i.e., the Water Sustainability Act) that support natural resource management relating to water allocation and management.
• Experience in analysis techniques and principles used for water, that help ensure fair and equitable allocation and management.
• Experience in consulting, negotiating and resolving conflicts with stakeholders and clients in natural resource management.
• Direct experience and/or education in hydrogeology or hydrology.
• One (1) or more years related experience working in natural resource management.

These positions can be worked from the following communities: Campbell River, Courtenay, Duncan, Nanaimo, Victoria, Port Alberni, or Port McNeill.
An eligibility list may be established for future temporary and/or permanent opportunities.

Flexible work options are available; these positions may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
