Job Summary
A great opportunity to take the next step in your career
The Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship is accountable for integrated land and Natural Resource management, including objective setting for land and marine environments, effectively managing cumulative effects, and advancing reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, environmental sustainability, and economic growth.
FrontCounter BC is a single window service for clients of provincial Natural Resource ministries and agencies. Highly trained and dedicated staff provide accurate and integrated information, customized to the needs of the Natural Resource client. They are specifically trained and knowledgeable in authorizations required by Natural Resource clients for mining, forestry, agriculture, water, land, etc. Clients can think of the staff at FrontCounter BC as their direct link to BC's Natural Resource ministries and agencies. FrontCounter BC staff act as advocates, and help a client navigate through the application process - from start to finish - of what can sometimes be a maze of licences, permits and registrations.
The Natural Resource Specialist provides front line service based on general knowledge of various Natural Resource Agencies and other agencies' legislation, regulations, policies and procedures, to clients of the provincial government's Natural Resource agencies. In this role, you are the primary first point of contact/case manager for applicants and existing proponents seeking information and guidance on the application process and requirements for multi-authorization projects (simple and/or complex) for use of Natural Resources on private and crown land. This includes evaluating submitted applications and helping to prepare application report packages for further review and decision.
