As a Storeperson, you will provide superior customer service by supporting approximately 7,000 City employees including Police, Fire and Transit as well as external agencies. Primary duties include:
- Process Clothing Online orders, pick orders using radio frequency (RF) system, check and pack orders.
- Issue clothing and equipment to customers according to union agreement rules.
- Issue initial uniform for new recruits including sizing individuals for proper fit and measuring employees for made-to-measure items.
- Record all warehouse transactions accurately, timely and efficiently.
- Accept returns and exchanges under specific guidelines.
- Physically receive and put away inventory and update warehouse management software (WMS).
- Verify incoming shipments and organize outbound deliveries.
- Conduct on-going cycle counts and reconciliations.
- Maintain inventory control over 4,000 items.
- Maintain a safe environment, including general housekeeping.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED) and at least 3 years of relevant, practical experience in Supply Chain is required.
- An intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), SharePoint, and PeopleSoft FSCM would be an asset.
- Experience with warehouse management systems and safety training (Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Data Management systems, Workplace Hazardous Materials) will be considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a team environment, highly focused on customer service, possess a strong learning capacity and the ability to multi-task as required.
- Possess a high-level of initiative to work independently as needed, proficient ability to manage business records, and strong attention to detail.
Working Conditions: The ability to lift up to 22 kilograms (48.5 pounds) on a regular basis is required. This position involves long periods of standing, walking, and climbing ladders, as well as being around warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jackets, hand trucks, dollies, carts, ladders).
