A summer opportunity awaits a motivated student at our Fort Saskatchewan facilities beginning May 2024 for an approximate 4-month term. This is a temporary, full-time, hourly-paid position open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete. This position is not available for remote work.


What you will do:


  • Laboratory bench work
  • General laboratory tasks (instrument maintenance and calibrations, chemical inventory, housekeeping)
  • Physical and chemical testing of nitrogen fertilizers
  • Groundwater sampling and testing, grass sampling, and various environmental tasks and testing


What you will bring:


  • Enrolled in a Science program (Chemical Technology or Chemistry) or equivalent degree/technical program
  • Competence in standard Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Class 5 Drivers License
  • Previous related work experience at Nutrien or in another industrial setting, an asset
  • Confirmation of registration in a post-secondary institution in a degree or diploma program in Fall 2024
  • Must be self-motivated along with the ability to pay close attention to detail and have a strong ability to work individually as well as in a team setting.
