Hudson College is a co-ed, K-12 private school in midtown Toronto. We serve a diverse, down-to-earth community of over 420 students from across Toronto and beyond. For twenty years, Hudson has been a place where students love coming to school and benefit from a balanced academic program with excellent teaching and resources – and most of all, where they feel at home and can be themselves.

Job Opportunity:
If you are a warm and approachable person who is passionate about working closely with high school students on a daily basis, Hudson College encourages you to apply for the full-time position of Student Support and Programs Assistant in our Upper School, commencing April 1, 2024. This entry-level position is ideal for someone who thrives in a student-centred environment and is dedicated to fostering positive, supportive relationships with our student body. As an integral part of our educational team, this role offers great opportunities for professional growth in a nurturing and dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in Student Affairs operations, including supervising students at school events and exams, overseeing the cafeteria during lunch, coordinating vending machine operations, chaperoning sports teams and field trips and assisting in maintaining student personal and academic records and information to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct detailed clerical work for the Guidance Office, processing student forms and letters and engaging directly with students to ensure accurate record-keeping of student volunteer hours.
  • Provide robust support for our international families, aiding them with their logistical needs throughout enrollment, helping them integrate into the school community, and managing their international health insurance, vaccination requirements, and visa-related documentation.
  • Collaborate in managing our Homestay Program, serving as a vital communication bridge in Homestay arrangements, addressing concerns, and fostering positive relationships between Homestay Program students, host families, and the school.
  • Provide administrative support to the school’s efforts in developing various educational initiatives and student programs, such as global learning experiences and outdoor education, contributing to the success of these programs.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on being exceptionally approachable and relatable to students.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, focusing on efficiency and responsibility.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling student data and documents.
  • Proactive in enhancing student experiences and fostering a supportive environment.
  • Ability to manage multifaceted tasks in a fast-paced school environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in similar roles or educational settings is an asset

What We Offer:

  • A vibrant, positive, student-focused, and supportive work environment, fostered by a group of team-mindset educators and staff.
  • Diverse student population.
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth in education.
  • A role that positively impacts student experiences and supports their success.
  • Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience.
