WorkSafeNB is looking to hire a Summer Student to assist our Investigations and Technical Services Department within our Prevention Team. Reporting to the Manager, Investigations, you will support the investigations unit and engineer department by confirming status of deviations, variances requested under the OHSA. You will also review Investigation training, review accuracy of reported court convictions, and create legal forms. This opportunity will provide you with an opportunity to learn the Occupational Health and Safety Act from and engineering and legal perspective. You, as a successful candidate, possess: • Proof of current enrollment in a university program such as Business Administration, Education, Engineering/Forestry/Trades and Natural Sciences (e.g., Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, Biology, etc...). • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Ability to read and interpret legal document or engineering standards. • Ability to work independently will little supervision. • Knowledge of the goals of WorkSafeNB. • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. • Strong organizational skills.
Student rates: • High School completed and enrolled in first year of university $17.06 per hour. • 1 years of university completed $17.60 per hour. • 2 years of university completed $18.14 per hour. • 3 years of university completed $18.68 per hour. • 4 years of university completed $19.22 per hour. Written and spoken competency in English is required. Your primary workspace will be from your in-home office, with possibility of in person meetings, for that reason, working from outside the province of New Brunswick, or country, is not permissible.
