Orlick Industries Limited is a leading supplier in the automotive marketplace, providing precision machined aluminum casting.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for Summer Student Trim Press and CNC Operators to join our team for the summer in our Hamilton and Stoney Creek locations. The Machine Operators are responsible for safely operating the machines to produce high quality aluminum parts from a die cast or CNC machine.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintain continuous operation of the machines to produce quality parts.
• Visually examine the machined products to assess the quality of parts produced, as well as spot-check finished parts during machining cycles.
• Complete all necessary paperwork (i.e. pre-start safety checks, scrap, good parts produced, downtime, production sheets etc.)
• Effectively communicate to the next operator at shift change, of any visual or dimensional defects or issues.
• Complete a pre-start safety check prior to shift commencement. Equipment must be thoroughly checked by the operator.
• Using a hand tool where necessary to improve a finish on a part.
• Load castings onto fixtures ensuring proper orientation and location. Ensures machine properly clamps the parts in place and activates the machine cycle.
• Monitor machine operation to detect issues to notify their supervisors in the event of a machine error or malfunction.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Full-time Undergraduate, Graduate (University or College) students.
• Students eligible for the summer employment opportunities must be available from May to August 2024 and are returning to studies in the Fall of 2024.
• Good communication skills.
• Detail oriented and the ability to prioritize and multi task in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player and able to work well with others.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This position is full-time for the Summer 2024, with rotating shifts between days and afternoons.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months

Salary: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
