Alberta Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking Summer Students to work out of our mill site in Athabasca, Alberta for the period of May to August 2024. Al-Pac is recruiting for various positions across our administration and operations business areas. Our Summer Student Program is designed to develop the next generation of team members, while rewarding students with meaningful work, competitive pay and the opportunity to learn from industry professionals through hands-on experience.
Hours of work will be determined based on the area of assignment. Typically, administration roles operate Monday to Thursday working ten hours per day, or Monday to Friday working eight hours per day. Operations roles typically work a 14-day rotation on a 28-day cycle working 12-hours per day, either on a day shift or night shift.

Mill Site Opportunities:
Day Positions:
- Integrity Management Services (IMS)
- Maintenance Services
- Reliability Services
- Pulp Finishing

Shift Positions:
- Fibreline
Duties may Include:
· Working with operations
· Collect process samples
· Working in lab to test process samples
· Loading pulp cars and pulp trucks
· Cleaning rail cars
· Grass cutting
· General clean up and labour
· Moving furniture
· Replacing lighting & Replacing HVAC filters
Role Requirements:
- Must be returning to a recognized post-secondary program after summer of employment, or recently graduated from a post-secondary program within the same year of summer employment (Returning Al-Pac students only)
- Hold a valid Driver’s License (GDL removed) with an acceptable driving history
- Detail oriented with great communication skills
- Strong work ethic and committed to self-development
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team oriented
