We are actively recruiting for the role Supervisor, Operations. Reporting to the Manager, Operations, this role will be responsible for providing day to day operational leadership to ensure that the facility is operated in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner in compliance with all regulatory and corporate standards and programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing day to day operational leadership to ensure that the facility is operated in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner in compliance with all regulatory and corporate standards and programs
  • Oversees the execution of maintenance work within operating environment, reviewing, and prioritizing maintenance activities, ensuring operational environment is properly prepared for maintenance work, ensuring that work is executed in a safe manner within regulatory parameters
  • Provides day to day supervision of operations employees, including coordination of orientation, training and development, operator training qualification, scheduling, coaching, and mentoring
  • Lead and support facility performance monitoring and optimization – continues monitoring and optimization of process to ensure a reliable, safe operation of the facility within regulatory parameters
  • Oversees the development of operational procedures, makes recommendations for development or modification of current procedures
  • Actively supports JHSC goals through active participation with JHSC Committee, coordination of safety meetings, ensuring work permits are completed accurately, investigation of incidents and implementing recommendations

Qualifications:
Required:

  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate
  • 5 years of experience in an industrial process plant environment or an equivalent combination of technical and/or leadership training/experience
  • Proven Leader skills with relevant experience in supervision
  • Operations and/or technical procedure writing
  • Health and Safety program experience; knowledge of industrial occupational health and safety requirements and hazards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to positively direct and motivate employees and teams toward common goals to consistently achieve desired results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a sour gas plant.
  • Strong maintenance and/or operations process background with troubleshooting and analytical skills; ability to identify, interpret, rationalize, analyze, and solve problems
  • Knowledge of Work Management systems
  • Knowledge of Contract Management programs
  • Knowledge in Incident Command System and Incident Commander role (100/200)
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Project management skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills: ability to identify, plan, prioritize and execute work objectives
  • Understanding of and respect for labour relations requirements within unionized work environment
  • Team Building Skills; ability to lead and participate in cross functional groups to develop projects and achieve goals

Salary Range:

$130,000 - $150,000 plus allowances and premiums. Final compensation for this position will be determined based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate and will be aligned to internal equity.
